According to the most recent U.S. census, around 15 percent of most newlywed partners are interracial. Much more interracial connections may showing up inside the media – on television, in movie and also in marketing and advertising.
These fashions suggest that big strides have been made within the roughly 50 years considering that the great legal struck down anti-miscegenation laws and regulations.
But as a psychologist who studies racial attitudes, we suspected that perceptions toward interracial lovers might not be since positive as they manage. My past perform have given some proof opinion against interracial lovers. But I wanted to learn how common that prejudice in fact is.

To respond to this concern, my collaborator James Rae and I hired members from in the U.S. to look at implicit and direct attitudes toward black-white interracial couples.
