The U.S. Embassy gets reports almost each day of fraudulence committed against U.S. residents by online correspondents professing love and interest that is romantic. Typically, the Russian correspondent asks the U.S. resident to deliver credit or money card information for bills, travel costs, or “visa costs.” The privacy regarding the Internet ensures that the U.S. resident may not be certain of the real title, age, marital status, nationality, and on occasion even gender for the correspondent. The U.S. Embassy has received many studies of residents losing thousands through such frauds. Americans are encouraged not to deliver cash to anybody they usually have maybe maybe not met face-to-face. (more…)
